Fan Experience: Catching Fire

T-shirt:

One of my ideas is selling a t-shirt to fans of the series and people who are looking to get into the series The Hunger Games. This idea comes from the title of the book. The t-shirt will look just like the title of the book Catching Fire. The t-shirt will be bright red color to standout and it will have a picture of a mocking jay and say Catching Fire on it. On the back of the t-shirt it will have their favorite character’s name from the series and a quote that their favorite character said. The character choices will be Peeta, Katniss, or Haymitch. This is a fun way of showing interest in the Hunger Games. This idea will work because when someone sees the t-shirt they will remember Catching Fire since the shirt is a picture of the title of the book. It will also help gain more buyers because it’s pretty much an advertisement of the series, so when people see the shirt and the certain character on the back they might find it interesting and after that they would buy the book. Although this idea could backfire because maybe no one notices the shirt and very few become interested. This is less likely I think because the shirt will be a bright red and it will have a big letters on the back of it which I think will grab people’s attention.

Katniss’s quote will be “If it were up to me, I would try to forget the Hunger Games entirely. Never speak of them”. I chose this quote for Katniss because she participated in The Hunger Games and it was a very tough time because she killed people saw people die and she could’ve died herself. So she is saying she never wants to talk about it again because it’s such a bad experience to be a part of and hard time in her life. This quote will be good because people felt bad for Katniss and how she had to participate in the Hunger Games so they will think back to how she participated in the Hunger Games and how she was brave enough to take her sisters place in it because initially her sister was chosen to participate.

Peeta’s quote will be “I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you.” Peeta is saying this to Katniss showing that he loves her a lot and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. I think this is a good quote because people who are interested in the series like the love between Peeta and Katniss. Another reason it will work is because when girls see this quote they will think it shows the love of somebody, therefore they will buy it because it has love in it along with drama, action, and adventure.

Haymitch’s quote will be “Brr. You two have go a lot of warming up to do before showtime.” Haymitch is talking to Katniss and saying how her and Peeta need to warm up (love each other more) before going to the Capitol because the whole Capitol thinks there in love even though there not. At least not till the end of the book. This quote will work because people will want to know who the quote is about.

Post 4: Setting

The setting of the book Catching Fire is District 12 in which Peeta, Gale, and Katniss live in. The current setting of the novel is Katniss and Peeta are on the train to go to the Capitol. Another Setting was the woods where Katniss and Gale illegally hunt, fish, and gather. So far there has been three settings in the book but im infering that the Capitol will be another setting since Peeta and Katniss are on there way there.

Post 3: What is a Book?

A book is a place to get away. A good book should possess a good problem and a good solution torwards the end of the book. It should possess a introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Another trait a book should possess is a main character where everything revolves around that person. There are many other traits but I think the ones I named are the most important traits and the traits that have to be represented inside a book. 

My definition to a book is different from someone elses because they think it's something where you get information from. Although my definition could be someone elses which is "a place to get away".
A book is not the same on a technolgical device to me because I am just so used to having it on a paperback it would be weird to read it from a technological device. I dont think a book is magical but I do think its a place to get away and if you want to get smarter you read books. Altough to some other people it can be magical and magical could be just a place to get away, but I dont think books are "magical".
